Lead Teacher - Walrus
Hi I am Mahea Oleole and I am the Lead Teacher in the Walrus classroom. My passion is working with children and families, by providing any support or getting to learn more about children’s development. Soon I will have my Masters of Science in Family and Child Life from Central Washington University. It has been a pleasure being able to be a part of Happy Feet the past year, and I love having the opportunity to work all these awesome and unique kiddos!
Lead Teacher - Penguin
Hi! My name is Ellyana and I am lead teacher in the Penguin Room here at Happy Feet. I have worked in childcare - specifically with toddlers - for about 10 years and it is my favorite thing in the world. I enjoy getting to watch young children learn, grow, and love. My husband and I moved to Ellensburg in 2019 to be close to family and get away from the city. We have a chiweenie puppy named Gus who is one of the most amazing things in my life. I like to read, try out new tv shows, watch baseball, and spend time with my husband and puppy. I am so happy to have found Happy Feet Academy.
Lead Teacher - Moose
Hello! My name is Ashlee! I am currently the lead teacher in the Moose Room and I have been with Happy Feet since summer of 2020! I am originally from Vancouver, WA but I have been in Ellensburg the last five years and I love it here! I graduated from CWU with a B.S. in Family & Child life & a specialization in Child Development. I have 3 (soon to be 4) nephews that I grew up babysitting and have been in childcare for several years now. I try to take every chance I can to get outdoors & explore or just get some fresh air! Music is also a passion of mine so expect music in the morning for your kiddos! One thing I enjoy about teaching is helping children celebrate their growth no matter how big or small it may be!
Lead Teacher - Polar Bear Cubs
Hello! I have been the lead teacher in the Polar Cubs room since 2018. I love to be outside, camping and biking. I also like to say that I like hiking but if I'm honest, the only part of hiking that I really like is being outside. I also love to sew and craft! I find so much joy working with kids, especially the teensy ones because I love watching them grow and learn so fast. I have a daughter, Nora, who gets to be here at Happy Feet with me. I have 6+ years of experience in infant and toddler care and love being part of the Happy Feet Family!
Lead Teacher - Arctic Fox
Hello! My name is Lauren Favero, I am the lead teacher in the Fox Room. I have been at Happy Feet since Spring of 2020 and have loved getting to know all the kids! I have spent my entire time at Happy Feet working in the Fox Room. I have always adored working with kids and I am so lucky to be able to do that each and every day at work! My favorite thing about working with kids is their sweet hugs and contagious laughs. Currently, I am attending Central Washington University and am working on completing my pre-requisites before attending nursing school. I hope to become a labor and delivery nurse. When I am not working or at school, I love to spend time outside with my dogs! We love to explore new hikes around the PNW.
Lead Teacher - Whales
I was born and raised in Bothell, WA and I am currently enrolled at Central Washington University working towards my degree in Sociology while getting my minor in Family Science and getting a certificate in Child Development. I previously worked in a daycare for the YMCA in Mill Creek, WA where I was able to work with children from infants through 5 years old, while most frequently working with the older groups. I love working with kids and being able to help teach them new ideas and experiences. I enjoy going on hiking and spending time outdoors with my friends and family as well as doing fun crafts that I would like to incorporate in the classroom with different art and science projects!
